6.40pm - 7.10pm

Bull & Gate
389 Kentish Town Rd, London, NW5 2TJ

- Most people (the host included) will have only visited this pub because of the live music venue at the back. Many of the bands from the late 70s/early 80s cut their teeth here (Madness etc) so it's worth a visit for that reason if nothing else. The pub part itself is a down-to-earth local Irish establishment from an era when pubs were pubs; it is untouched by any of that gastro nonsense.

#3

7.15pm - 7.45pm

O'Reilly's
59 Kentish Town Road, NW5 2JS

- This is what fancyapint.com said about this pub:

A decent Irish pub. It's had a standard stripped out refit but the remaining glass and tile work leaves plenty to admire. Elsewhere with the décor it's still the early 90s and the Celtic Tiger- is in mid-roar, so plenty of photos of Irish heroes of that age (eg Sinead O'Connor) but none of anyone who's come to prominence since (eg er... Westlife). Not as in your face as some Irish pubs in North London, so don't come here expecting a full on Kilburn experience. But if a quieter drink is your aim, then you won't go too far wrong here.

#4

7.55pm - 8.30pm

George IV
76 Willes Road, Kentish Town, NW5 3DL

- Fancyapint.com again:

The George IV is a fantastic proper Victorian pub, just where you wouldn't expect one. Tucked off Kentish Town High Road on the edge of an industrial estate, the exterior is an ivy covered wonder, complete with charming globe lamps inscribed with 'GR IV'. Inside is equally good, with pictures covering every inch of the wall space and perfect lighting, which included a lamp for every table. Nothing of note on the beer taps, sadly, and the food seems pretty minimal, but the service was as friendly as the locals who make up the clientele of this strong community-led pub. If they could find themselves some real ale and give the gents get a sprucing up, this is a definite candidate for a four pint rating and proves that not every local's pub is tired or unwelcoming.
