Ruby Grand
227 King Street, London W6 9JT

- Once the rough 'n' ready Hampshire, this grand property a short way down Kings Street reopened in the late Summer of '07 as another branch of the small 'Ruby' chain. Premium lagers, cocktails and couches await intrepid Hammersmith bound explorers. Décor-wise, it looks pretty good here, with cow parsley and flock patterned wallpaper, 1970's lamps and other fittings from a variety of other styles and eras - a bit of a stylistic magpie, if you will. Indeed a separate dining area and some of "London's finest" DJs add to the feeling they're attempting to be all things to all people. Still, they do a good enough job and the back garden is very nice, presumably proving a draw during the summer months.

Salutation
154 King Street, London W6 0QU

- The Salutation is a pretty decent pub, with a rather unusual Edwardian tiled facade. It serves excellent Fuller's beers accompanied basic pub grub. It has an airy feel, helped by the conservatory and sizeable beer garden at the back. There's a big screen with Sky for the footy (and other sports). It's a jolly good pub (especially to while away a Saturday afternoon) in an area lacking in them - proving it can be done.

Plough & Harrow
120-124 King St, London W6 0QU

- We'll be stopping a bit longer here for food.

It's deceptively large and mainly decorated in pine colours. As with all the newer Wetherspoons, they ticked all the right boxes - clean, cheap, disabled accessibility, good toilets, OK food, real ales, proper ventilation.

Stonemasons Arms
54 Cambridge Grove, W6 0LA

- The Stonemasons Arms is one of the earlier proponents of a style of pub now seen throughout this fair city of ours - the renovated gastropub. As such, expect wooden floors, wooden tables, a (pricey) eating section, middle class dinner party musak, a raft of premium lagers and a token ale (London Pride). Service was good and a pleasant enough atmosphere is to be found herein.
