Opened in 1908, this and the next station (Eltham Well
Hall) were both closed and replaced by
a more central station (Eltham) in 1985.
The normal expectation would be to find the station
building perched on the road above the platforms. Instead, two
covered footpaths provided access down to platform level station
buildings.
This parade of shops above the station site continues
to display its origins.
