HOLLOWAY & CALEDONIAN ROAD

(1852 - 1915)

The first station north from Kings Cross, it suffered terminal competition from the Piccadilly line, whose Holloway Road
station opened next door to it.

Some trackside remains. One of the bridges spanning Holloway Road has been removed; it's gap can be seen here.

Apr 2005 - the entrance (the lighter coloured bricks) on the left hand side. The missing bridge abutment is to its right.
The arches along here were used to house a musicians rehearsal studio complex (and as might be expected
from rooms built into arches, were damp and smelly).

The area was cleared in late 2006 as part of its redevelopment. Move your cursor over the image above to see the same view in Jan 2007.
