KEW BRIDGE

(1862 - 1940)

The existing London & South Western station at Kew Bridge on the Hounslow loop is still open. Its North & South Western Junction neighbour on a separate spur of the Kew triangle is closed however. The Kew triangle still exists but only the south east - south west spur is open to passenger traffic.

The southerly of these two stations remains open.

This is the station building for the L.S.W. side, clearly in a very uninviting state and the impression given is that the station is completely closed. Access to the station is via footbridge to the right of here. The 2004 campaign started by Alexander Northcote, the Conservative Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Brentford & Isleworth, to have the station cleaned up obviously came to nothing. (May 2006)
