About The Crawls

The London Mensa First Friday pub crawls have become established as a very agreeable way of discovering London and its hostelries. It is unusual that there are less than twenty-five attendees, so there are plenty of people to mix with. The fluid nature (no pun intended) of moving from pub to pub ensures that you'll get to meet everyone by the end of the evening.

We want everyone to enjoy themselves and have a safe evening. For that purpose, detailed maps and directions are provided on the website for each crawl. This is particularly useful for those arriving late or leaving early (or those who need to detour mid-crawl for whatever reason).

An interesting viewpoint, reproduced below, is from Cecile Frogh, an American Mensan, who attended the Annual Gathering pub crawl:

"I truly enjoyed the pub crawl. This crawl idea is excellent. Specifically, taking a walk between each drink tends to keep the head clearer than does chatting and drinking in one place; it also tends to remix the conversational groupings. Pub crawl - a fine British cultural practice."
